I work with elderly people a lot, and in talking to them and hearing about their lives, I've learned some new ideas. While generational labels don't identify each individual within a grouping, you can notice trends. I've noticed that those of "The Greatest Generation" as some call it, handled crisis and struggle in a really healthy way. Instead of focusing on the fear of "what happens if..." or "will I make it through this," they never considered those ideas and simply sought out the next step, determining what material they had for survival and making use of them.
I think that is a wholesome idea to keep in mind.
