Advice on being a Television Journalist

Even after I was on camera I doubted whether I would be able to sustain my career. I would record my shows every day and then sit at home, watching and critiquing my performance to see how I sounded, looked and did. I was very insecure and self-critical. It was actually detrimental, because I obsessed over things that the average person did not see and I spent so much time looking to correct little things that I missed the big picture. It is very easy to get sucked into the competitiveness of it. To set myself apart, I learned that I had to be who I was and not someone I was not.
