When you're shooting a video with your smartphone,

When you're shooting a video with your smartphone, a call, text, email, alarm or alert can pause the video or cause the whole process to hiccup or crash. If you're recording something important (or just don't want to be hassled by potential interruptions), turn your phone to airplane mode first. It will allow you to shoot videos, but block any incoming messages or alerts that could mess up your video.
