Ticks when using Frontline dog meds

If you are using Frontline or other such

If you are using Frontline or other such bug meds on your dogs, they still can get ticks on them and you still need to check them after walks. We were under the false impression that ticks would die and fall off immediately, but it actually takes 24 to 28 hours for the ticks to die and they can actually still bite your dog. The meds kill them eventually and prevent them from burrowing into your dog (yuck) and/or jumping off alive and reproducing in your house (double yuck). Make sure to still check your dogs after walks for any live or dead ticks on there no matter what meds you're using. We check our long haired dog with a comb after every walk and he weirdly LOVES it. It's like a little doggie massage four times a day.
