Tips on Making an Emergency Road Kit


CAA recommends you carry an emergency road kit containing the following items: at all times:
Sand or kitty litter
Snow brush/ice scraper and shovel
Jumper cables
Windshield washer fluid
Flashlight with spare batteries
Cloth or paper towels
Gloves, hats, blankets and extra clothes
Flares or other warning devices and waterproof matches
Non-perishable food and drinking water
First-aid kit
Hardcopy of a map

“As Canadians, it’s essential that we take the necessary precautions to ensure that we and our vehicles are ready for the winter driving season,” said Marc Brazeau, President of the Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada. “Thinking and planning ahead can be the key to avoiding a roadside breakdown or a more dangerous situation.”
