You know Alka-Seltzer as a tummy soother or headache buster, but did you know it has a ton of other uses? Here are three to get you started.
Insect Bites: Soak a cotton ball in fully-dissolved Alka-Seltzer and apply to bug bites to reduce swelling and itching.
Clean your Coffee Pot: Fill up the water reserve in your coffee pot and drop in three tablets. Once they dissolve, run the water through a cycle as if you were making coffee. Run another cycle of clean water to clean everything out. The seltzer will break down residue and grime on the internal components of the coffee maker.
Catch a Fish: Fish are attracted to bubbles in water, so if you use a hollow lure and put half a tablet inside of it before casting off, the fizz will attract more fish.
