Be sentimental about family--not your equipment

Having played baseball a lot, I realized an obvious thing after I was just about beheaded by a line drive going through the pocket of my beloved and well-worn baseball glove. The lesson was reinforced when I was barely able to play in an important game because my lucky cleats fell apart. My tip is simply to make sure your equipment is good to go and not just use the same glove you have owned for 17 years. Save the sentimental glove and hang it up in your basement but don't use it for playing.
