When you're running, especially if you're struggling a bit, your body naturally gets hunchy -- your shoulders hunch up to your ears, your elbows tuck in at your sides, your neck gets tight, your lips are pursed and your hands naturally ball up into fists. All of these things make breathing evenly and running much harder. When you're running, keep your mouth as relaxed as possible and try to loosen your elbows and hands. Imagine you're holding a raw egg in each hand -- keep your hands cupped loosely enough that you don't crush the egg!
