In a million years, I never thought I would post a dishwasher tip. That said, I had a repairman over the other day and he passed on a tip that he said most people weren’t aware of. I am not sure if that is the case—or if he was just being polite—but here it is.
If your hot water tank is not near your dishwasher, then often your first cycle or two may be using cold water. If you run the hot water tap closest to your dishwasher before washing, then the first cycle or two will likely use hot water.
So there you go—run the hot water for a minute, turn on the dishwasher and you will have cleaner dishes.
