Prying apart the spiral piece of metal that holds your keys is awful...nails get broken, fingers get pinched, and the keys never seem to budge, whether you're trying to add or remove them from the keyring.
While shoving a steak knife into your keychain is effective, try this before you run the risk of digital amputation or mortal wounds. Grab a staple remover (it looks like a miniature stapler with two small teeth on each side). Insert it into the key ring to hold it open while you add or subtract keys. So much easier!
