Write out a list of everything you have to do. Include absolutely everything, from Hoovering and buying milk to getting cracking with your novel. Start doing them from the smallest thing and work your way up to the bigger, more demanding tasks.

By the time you've crossed off a handful of small things, you'll feel confident enough to tackle the bigger ones and will sail through them without noticing any of the things that held you back before you wrote the list.
