How to Make a Camping Stove Out of a Mint Tin

To create a miniature stove -- small, but hot enough to boil a pot of water! -- try this trick. You'll need an empty mint tin (like Altoids size), about 1/4 cup of Miracle Gro fertilizer, and a piece of grating (aluminum screen, baking cooling rack, etc).

Fill the tin with the fertilizer and place the grate on top of the tin. Light the fertilizer on fire -- a few tablespoons will burn for up to 10 minutes, and will be hot enough to boil a small pot of water.
