"If you are facing difficult times, try not to dwell on the situation because there is no sense worrying about the bad things that may happen.  Think about the good things instead.

If something needs to be fixed, then you have to do it yourself.  It boils down to depending on yourself.  You can’t let other people take care of you all your life. Before the kidnapping, I would go to work, come home for a few days and then go away again.  Work was always first.   Now I do the same job, but nothing is done without talking with my family.  I think, at the time, neither my wife nor I knew any better, because I was in the military when we started our relationship, so we were always apart for periods of time.  I did not have my priorities quite in line before.  I did not have my family on the level they should have been and I have found out that they are a lot more important to me than I realized. It is sad that sometimes it takes extreme situations in life to wake you up."
