This might seem like a tough tip to follow, but trust me -- you can eat your favorite things during the holidays and not gain weight. Here's how!
1) Keep your portion sizes, even of the good stuff, in check. Eat more of fresh veggie side dishes, skinless white meat turkey, red wine and pumpkin pie -- and less of the crispy skin, creamy casseroles, eggnog and pecan pie.
2) If you're really craving everything on the holiday buffet, take a small scoop (tablespoon-sized) of the unhealthy items and go from there. You might satisfy that craving with a smaller portion than you think.
3) Don't stop being active just because you're on "break." If you usually go to the gym or exercise classes and they're still being offered during the holidays, go to them! Sitting around and eating worse foods than you normally would is a recipe for disaster.
