What does a mom need with kettle bells? I did a little research, and after using my kids' I realize they are pretty handy in a workout. Shot putters and discus throwers have used something similar for years called a pud, and now mainstream workouts use these weights to heft between your legs, behind your back, and for arm strength. They have more stable handles than dumbbells, come in lots weights, and have ergonomic handles so they are easier to control. You can grasp them with two hands to work on shoulder strength without losing your grip (like I did on a slippery metal hand weight.) They are also more colorful so it is easy to identify the different weights quickly during your workout.
