As the summer comes closer and closer college students are searching for summer jobs. These jobs include retail, fast food, and many more. This week I had a job interview and came up with a few tips that can help anyone to have a successful interview and land the job!
First, always make sure to dress in the appropriate attire. This includes; slacks, a dress shirt, flats or a short heel for women. Men look great when they wear a shirt and tie/ nice collar shirt, dress shoes, and a nice pair of slacks. This is your first impression, so make it count! Management cannot take you seriously for employment with Air Jordans and Cargo Shorts, so present yourself well!
Next, allow your personality to come out in your interview. Employers want someone who can become personable with customers and mingle with them not, someone who will just stand there. Also, when showing your personality in your interview, make sure to not talk about yourself too much. This can become a problem if you are in a group interview. This takes away the interview process from the other candidates and the management could just eliminate you from the selection process.
Finally, always make sure to never interrupt the hiring manager when their talking. This is not only disrespectful but can disrupt the whole interview process. Following these few easy tips can help any interview a success.
