Laundry Basket in the Bathtub

This one seems weird, but it's an excellent way to keep little kids safe in the bath (note: small children, NOT infants). Put a large, plastic laundry basket (the kind with all the ventilation holes in it) into the bathtub while you're filling it. Place the child in the basket. The water will flow in and out of the basket, but the child will be at less risk of slipping, falling, or whacking their heads on the hard surfaces of the bathtub. Bonus: this method makes it easier to collect bath toys when you're done -- simply pick up the basket and shake it gently to drain away any excess water.
