Learn the Three Basics

Digital point-and-shoot cameras are so easy to use

Digital point-and-shoot cameras are so easy to use -- some people take photos forever and never venture away from the camera's automatic settings. If you want to branch out, you need to learn about the three "big" elements of photography: aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Aperture is the size of the lens opening at the moment a photo is taken, shutter speed is the amount of time that the shutter is actually open, and ISO is a measure of your camera's light sensitivity. Once you familiarize yourself with these basic elements, you'll see a huge improvement in your photos and won't need to edit your shots nearly as often.
