Mix Your Foundation

Is your skin the same color all year

Is your skin the same color all year round? Probably not. I can go up and down 1-3 makeup shades depending on how much sun I've gotten, how much I stay indoors, and whether or not (usually not) I've gone on a tropical mid-winter vacation. It's really hard to find a foundation that perfectly matches your skin at any given time, and impossible to find one that's perfect in all seasons. To get your color perfectly right all the time, purchase the foundation that's right for you RIGHT NOW, and also one shade darker and one shade lighter. Keep in the same tonal family (all cool, neutral or warm). As your skin color changes with the seasons, mix the lighter or darker shades with your "base" middle color to achieve the perfect coverage. Extra tip: for foundation to be considered perfectly blended, it should disappear into your jawline when applied.
