Network 'Til You Drop

When it comes to job searching, networking is key. In a tough economy, most of the recent grads who secure jobs are those who make connections with already-employed friends or mentors. Make a list of all the contacts you spent so much time making in college. Whether it’s your friend’s big sister who has a killer job, a CEO you interviewed for the college paper, or a fellow student in a similar field as you, don’t leave any stones unturned. Contact everyone on your list and ask if they can help you or put you in touch with someone who can. It sometimes feels embarrassing to ask so many people for help, but it’s far more embarrassing to hear that a friend landed a new job by using a contact you were too afraid to contact.
