When taking photos of a newborn make sure the mother and the father are not in the same room. The baby can smell their parents (especially mamma) and the baby will wake up if he/she smells them. Also, make sure the room is very warm. Since a lot of newborn photos the baby isn't wearing much clothing you must turn up your thermostat to make sure the baby doesn't get cold and cry or wake up.
