For in-person sales appointments, leave your coat at the door. Always leave your coat in the closet by the reception desk (95% of businesses have this type of setup).   I have seen far too many reps carry (or even wear) their jacket into a sales call which makes them look like they are not there for a long appointment and as well it is unprofessional--especially so if the coat is not as professional as their business attire.
