Two Ways to Unwind

Some days you just get home and you're

Some days you just get home and you're wiped out. Either that, or if you're like me, you can't seem to relax. There's always something to do! Or something that you CAN be doing. I need to actually force myself to chill out and relax. I usually do that either one of two ways, and I want to share them with you. They're both very effective for me.

1. As you can see from the photo above, I chill out by playing video games. With teenagers in 1997. But seriously, what works for me is booting up a game that I can wander around in without clear focus, like Fallout 3 or Red Dead Redemption, and play while listening to music or podcasts. It really helps take your mind off things. Try it out, even if you're not someone who typically plays video games.

2. Exercise. My second, and less-used method for stress relief is to simply wear myself out. I will typically get on the treadmill at the gym and essentially run until I'm completely exhausted. Then my brain has to go into "shut up mode", and I can fall asleep watching a movie.

These two methods work for me, and I suggest you try them. If you have your own ways of relaxing, like yoga or painting along to Bob Ross videos, please share!
