If you're laying over for a long time at the airport, check on eBay for a first-class airport lounge pass. These passes give you access to a nice, comfy lounge with free drinks and snacks and free wireless internet. Often, frequent fliers or business travelers will sell their lounge passes for cheap if they aren't currently using them. Bonus tip: make sure the lounge pass coincides with the airline you're flying; you usually have to have a matching ticket to get in, even with a pass.
