How to Cool off Your Laptop

Laptops run hotter than desktop computers, and the heat can fry your system if you’re not careful. There are fans made specifically for under your laptop, but they can be expensive and not all that effective. There are two ways to alleviate laptop overheating: don’t use your laptop on soft surfaces! A bed, couch, or your lap blocks the vent fan and causes fast overheating. The other trick is to give your laptop a little space between it and the surface it’s sitting on. To do this cheaply and easily, make four little stands for your laptop on your desk using bottle caps and gummy poster tack. Place your laptop on the “feet” while working for long periods of time. Creating this air gap allows the vent fan to work more efficiently.
