If putting on cold hats, mittens, coats and scarves makes you cringe during winter mornings, here's a quick solution. Purchase a small heating pad (available at pharmacies for less than $15) and put it on your bed or couch. Before you get in the shower, turn the heating pad on and place your hat, mittens, scarf and any other cold-weather gear underneath it. By the time you're showered and ready, your stuff will be toasty warm and ready for the great outdoors. (Note: I recommend buying a heating pad with an automatic turn-off -- if you forget your stuff in the morning, it will prevent fires or other damage).
