Your work isn't sacred. It isn't a stroke of genius. It isn't a newborn brain child that will pioneer a new way of thinking. It isn't perfect.
In some way, your work is flawed. Your characters are underdeveloped. The plot is thin at best. Your writing style is cumbersome. Your story is flat out boring.
It will never be perfect, but it could be better.
My point is, writing requires focus, determination, and HUMILITY. Your first draft probably sucks.
Accept this and you'll improve. Reject it and you'll never grow or reach those lofty goals that you're hiding deep in your heart.
