Power up your Thoughts with Affirmations

All of us experience mental interference that gets in the way of our success. Call those voices in your head your “ducks quacking”, your “inner critic”, or your “mental monkeys” – they all serve to throw you off track and get in the way of your success.
Your reaction to the mental interference is where you hold the power.

You are the only thinker in your own mind and you can control your internal environment. Taking responsibility for your thoughts and learning how to self-manage is key to developing mental mastery.

First step is to be aware of what throws you off centre and notice when that happens.

Second step is to then consciously and proactively shift back to a grounded, positive, fully-present positive mindset.

One effective way to do that is by creating and using Personal Affirmations.

How to Create a Personal Affirmation:
1/ Imagine a mental state that you would like (e.g. / I wish I were more confident speaking in my staff meeting)
2/ Put those words in the present tense and start your affirmation with the words “I am” (e.g./ I am a confident speaker)
3/Juice it up with an adjective (I am a completely confident and self-assured speaker and add great value whenever I speak.)

Once you have created an affirmation, read and recite it several times per day to create a new, neural pathway of belief.

Hint: Remember to affirm what you want, not what you don’t want!
